WE WORK TO UNDERSTAND THE UNDERLYING PROBLEM
A community organisation was investigating upgrading their building due to the earthquake rating, we undertook an asset review, and  it was found that the building was not performing on many fronts, including functionality, underutilisation of the property and the return on investment. We worked with them to maximise the return on the sale and they moved to a quality, more affordable leased alternative.

FACILITATIVE APPROACH, WORKING COLLABORATIVELY WITH YOU

An example of our facilitative approach is the facilitation of the five Joint Officials Groups on Land Transport and the project management of public policy roll-outs – such as formation of the Emission Trading Scheme, options for streamlining the Building Act and Housing Affordability initiatives.

DOING THE NUMBERS, TO ENSURE THE ANSWER HAS QUANTIFIED SUPPORT
An example, we were approached by a rural Maori organisation, who owned land and wanted to develop a housing project. We worked with them to understand the housing need in the community, and the cost of development against the end value. This work resulted in housing  being identified as not the best use of their resources, housing need not being substantiated so  they decided to focus their priorities on economic development initiatives to grow jobs and incomes.

QUICK TO-THE POINT REPORTS
An example of our quick-to-the-point reports is the business case for implementation of 50 tonne maximum heavy vehicles – written in the Better Business Case (BBC) format.

WE BRIDGE THE GAP BETWEEN STRATEGY AND DELIVERY.
An example, we were approached by a mental health support organisation who were frustrated at the lack of the affordable housing options in their community. To utilise their significant funding opportunities and community support we worked with them to establish a housing trust, governance structures, a Housing strategy, a business plan, undertake recruitment  and assist with project planning, funding  and land purchase. This organisation has become a very successful housing organisation with a small but growing housing portfolio.
