Steve has practised on his own account and in association with Stimpson & Co since 2000, and consults in the private, local government and central government sectors. Prior to this he was a consultant with KPMG.

Steve’s local government work has included the development of a funding and expenditure database for Local Government New Zealand, rental policy, tenant profile analysis and modeling options for maintaining, modernising and reconfiguring the housing portfolio for Wellington City Housing, and the development of revenue and funding policies and development contribution policies for various medium and large Councils.

For central government Steve has undertaken system and budget reviews, process costing, and process analysis and design projects.
